We are exactly where we are supposed to be

For the purposes of this article, we are going to assume, at least for the moment, that the universe is a friendly place where we have everything we need in order to be happy. You may not believe this, and that's okay... in fact, that's exactly what this article is about... your beliefs and how you, too, can experience this universe, this planet, as a wonderful place where happiness is possible. We are also going to suggest that, if there is any purpose to Life (and we don't know that there is!), that purpose might be to have some experiences and maybe learn some lessons. In writing this article and based on many years of study, exploring and experience, we are assuming that these two things are true.... at least for the purposes of this article.

The underlying assumption in this article is that issues exist for each one of us, that they color the way we see the world and that when those issues are identified and healed, the way we are able to experience the world CHANGES, for the better. At least that is the experience being reported to us by our clients.
Okay, so each of us has experienced working really hard, trying with everything we have. Why aren't we any further along? Because, based on the above, we are exactly where we are supposed to be in our lives. Beliefs and something else, something we call 'protections mechanisms' hold us exactly where we are. What are beliefs and protection mechanisms? Nothing more ... and nothing less... than the programs which run the computer we call our minds. In fact, just like a computer, we actually have two minds: a subconscious and a conscious mind. Each of these minds has jobs they perform. Quite simply, if your conscious mind wants to make more money, but your subconscious mind has a routine running that says you only deserve to just get by; all the conscious mind-driven effort in the world will not override your subconscious mind's routine. You will just get by. What we have discovered is that consciously knowing that there is a belief or a program running about 'just getting by' will not change the fact that it is, and will continue until deleted, to run the show. You will just get by.

In fact, because of those programs, we cannot be anywhere else in our lives, we cannot be any happier or less happy in our life. We have exactly the amount of money we are 'supposed' to have and we cannot have any less or anymore. If we have periods where we have more or less, we will always come back to the exact amount we are 'supposed' to have. We are exactly where we are 'supposed' to be in our careers and we cannot be any lower in our careers or any higher in our careers. If there are times where we go higher or lower we will always come back to exactly where we are 'supposed' to be in our careers. Same thing with relationships: we are exactly where we are supposed to be in our relationships -- single, married, divorced, etc. -- and we cannot be any happier or less happy in those relationships. If we find moments of being happier or satisfied or less happy or satisfied, we will always come back to the exact happiness or satisfaction we are 'supposed' to have.

This is a pretty profound statement, 'we are exactly where we are supposed to be in our lives and we cannot be any higher or lower, any worse or any better.' If we try to force ourselves to be in a higher place in our lives we will most probably achieve it for a period of time but the moment we stop forcing ourselves to be in that higher place we will almost immediately drop back to exactly where we were before we forced ourselves to get to a higher place. Even if we force ourselves to get to a lower place in our lives we will probably achieve it for a while but the moment we stop forcing ourselves to be in that lower place we will almost immediately move back up to exactly where we were before we forced ourselves to get to the lower place. This principle operates like a boomerang, we always come back to the place to where we started or where we are 'supposed' to be.
